Meet Marianne Stevens

Marianne worked as a medical secretary in London and Bermuda before marrying her naval officer husband. They travelled to both New Zealand and Australia for naval postings. During this time, Marianne discovered she had breast cancer but this didn’t stop the family’s various moves and they lived in New Zealand and Australia, finally settling near Perth. They bought an old villa in rural Italy and spent every European summer there for ten years. Marianne first wrote ‘What a Life!’ describing her childhood plus the fantastic lifestyle in Bermuda.

She then wrote ‘A Villa in Umbria’ which is a novel based on her experience restoring their villa in Umbria.

The third book is about living and travelling with breast cancer which was inspired by a nursing friend who suggested she look so well and she should write a book on her experiences. As it is such a positive book, it is proving popular with friends who know someone with breast cancer and has been flying off the shelves!

Marianne belongs to the Mandurah writing group ‘Scribblers’ and is currently working on her latest novel set in Bermuda. She is also a keen gardener and photographer, and has always enjoyed travelling. Her first job in London was with the Bank of NSW in their travel department. Sailing was a great love of her life and she raced on the Medway in the UK as well as enjoying the sport in Chichester Harbour.

Marianne's books are available on Amazon and other online bookstores.
